This course can have more improvement. Overall this is a great course. All section was explained briefly in a short period of time, so it’s not boring and you can proceed faster to the next section or lesson. And a bonus lecture for NODEJS. 5 star

When I took the course, I noticed that there were a lot of attempts to convey everything in different words, which made it just an incredibly cool feeling! This is about the new update to the course.
First of all, the course is good, as expected from a Colt Steele course. He does explain and show many aspects of MySQL.
The old (legacy) course is at the end of the new course, so the length of the course is actually shorter than the hours shown.
One disappointment was that the big IG database at the end was just a duplicate of the old course, as were a few other bits, so despite Colt telling us from his own mouth that the course was completely redone; it wasn’t, which meant that the final part did not include any practice at all on the new concepts.
I have mixed feelings about the level that the course takes us to, I don’t think it is taking us to ‘expert’ level as the title states, since I still had many questions,such as how to place an ID into multiple tables, and especially regarding securing the data as it is inserted, and how it is stored and extracted from the database. Surely plain-text storage is not wise these days.
Zarko the TA is very quick to answer questions, which is great. He provides a lot of knowledge, and some members of the community help as well.
So, while you will not be a true MySQL expert at the end, the course is good and will give you lots of great knowledge.

The course is very easy to follow, well structured, with good hands on exercises. The only reason I gave it 4.5/5 was that it is missing UNION/UNION ALL, and User Defined Functions. Aside from this, big thanks to the instructor.

After years in engineering, I started working for a software company. I didn’t know any sql, and they suggested me to take a starter course somewhere. I found this one on udemy and started in November. It was difficult at first; I every 5 minutes of this course took me 15-30 to understand it all. It took me 3 months to understand and complete it all, and it no longer has any secrets for me. Thanks for the course, it was brilliant and your good sense of humor helped to get me through the rough times. I definitely recommend this course.
